Stations of the Cross
| First Station: Jesus is condemned to death. On Good Friday, Jesus was brought before Pilate to be tried. Pilate said that Jesus had done no wrong and wanted to set him free; but he was afraid of the Jews, and at last condemned Jesus to be. |

| Second Station: Jesus receives the cross. Jesus was brought out of Pilate's palace, and a heavy cross was laid on his shoulders for him to carry to the hill of Calvary Back to the Top |

| Third Station: Jesus falls the first time. The cross was so heavy and Jesus was so tired, that it is said he fell to the ground beneath. |

| Seventh Station: Jesus falls for the second time. As Jesus still staggered along with his cross, he fell down, it is said, a second time under its weight. |

| Eighth Station: The women of Jerusalem mourn for Our Lord When Jesus passed where they stood, some women of Jerusalem wept for him; but Jesus said, "Weep not for me, but for yourselves and for your children". Back to the Top |

| Ninth Station: Jesus falls the third time. We are told that when Jesus had almost reached the hill of Calvary, and was growing weaker under the weight of the cross, he fell down a third time. |

| Thirteenth Station: The body of Jesus is taken down from the Cross. Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus went to Pilate and asked for the Body of Jesus to bury it; then they took it down from the Cross and laid it in the arms of his blessed Mother. |

| Fourteenth Station: The body of Jesus is laid in the tomb. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus took the Body of Jesus and laid it in a new tomb, carved out of a rock in a garden. There it remained until Easter morning, when Jesus rose in triumph from the dead. Back to the Top |
